Program Description

On Tuesday, October 8 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, we will have Ali Ataya, MD, discuss the rare lung disease pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) during his talk: Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis: Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Management.

Dr Ataya is an associate professor of medicine in the UF Division of PCCM. He serves as the director of the Rare Lung Disease Program and the Pulmonary Hypertension Center at the University of Florida.

During this engaging discussion:

  • Understand the basic principles of PAP, including pathophysiology and classification
  • Identify signs and symptoms of autoimmune PAP (aPAP), the most common form of PAP
  • Describe the diagnostic approach to aPAP
  • Evaluate current management options for aPAP
