Recent studies have uncovered the staggering prevalence of asthma in patients suffering from upper airway disorders. The inflammation in upper airways can intensify inflammatory responses in the lower airways, causing a vicious cycle of symptoms and exacerbations.
This educational program, presented by National Jewish Health, will bring together expert pulmonologists and allergists to discuss the complex and interconnected relationship between severe asthma and upper airway disease, including inflammatory pathways and biomarkers in chronic respiratory disease, and current and emerging therapies for managing patients with severe asthma and comorbid upper airway disease. Case scenarios will illustrate strategies for personalizing treatment plans, and attendees will have the opportunity to vote on which cases they would like experts to discuss.
This symposium is not supported, endorsed, or accredited by the American College of Chest Physicians, unless otherwise noted.
