CME/CE Credit and ABIM MOC Points at CHEST

Physician Credit


The American College of Chest Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


The American College of Chest Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 34.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit


Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 34.75 contact hours.


Respiratory Therapist (CRCE) Credit


Application will be made to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists.


Physician Assistant Credit


American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 34.75 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.


For European Attendees


The European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) will recognize certificates obtained by European physicians who attend cardiovascular medicine activities offered by U.S. providers accredited within the ACCME system. Those physicians would submit their CME certificate from CHEST directly to EBAC in order to have EBAC credit awarded.


Other Credit


CHEST will apply for additional continuing education credits. Check back for updates.


ABIM MOC Statement


Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 34.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.


Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow three to five business days after claiming for points to appear on your ABIM record.

CME/CE/COA Claiming Instructions


To evaluate CHEST 2018, claim CME/CE credits, and download CME/CE certificates or Certificates of Attendance (COA), follow the instructions below.

*International (outside the US/Canada) attendees can pick up their printed Certificate of Attendance at the Help Desk.


The evaluation system will open the last day of CHEST 2018, Wednesday, October 10. You must complete your evaluation and complete the claiming process by February 28, 2019.

  • Log in to chestnet.org using your e-mail address and password.

  • Click “My Learning” at the top-left of the page.

  • Find the CHEST 2018 Comprehensive Conference Evaluation in your course list.

  • Complete the evaluation and click the Claim Credit Now link.

  • To complete the claiming process, Click “Claim” next to the corresponding activity under “Claimable CME Activities.”

  • Select the type of credit you want to claim, and enter the number of hours you are claiming, commensurate with your participation.

  • Finalize by clicking the final “Claim” button.

  • Your certificate and transcript can be viewed under “Claimed CME Activities” on your dashboard.

  • *For US-/Canada-based attendees needing a Certificate of Attendance, follow these instructions and select COA for the credit type being claimed.


    **If you are a Sleep Medicine physician, and claim Sleep CME, your certificate will specify how many hours Sleep Medicine was part of the overall activity. Your MOC points will be sent automatically to ABIM.


    ABIM Maintenance of Certification Information


    Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for CHEST 2018. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.


    After you complete the CME claiming process, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points.
