When planning your daily schedule for CHEST 2024, don’t forget to set aside time for podcasts.
Attendees are invited to be part of the audience each morning during the CHEST Annual Meeting as four medical programs record episodes in Room 210C of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
Audience members will hear engaging conversations related to CHEST 2024 programming and get a behind-the-scenes look at how podcasts and other social media can be used for medical education.
ICU Ed and Todd-Cast
Join hosts, Edward Qian, MD, and Todd Rice, MD, FCCP, as they share their thoughts on Hot Critical Care Topics We Encountered at CHEST 2024, on Sunday, October 6, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am ET.
Drs. Qian and Rice will discuss emerging critical care trial results being presented at the meeting and define how new data and results might influence critical care clinical practice.
“We’ve always been impressed with the educational program at the CHEST Annual Meeting, and when we were approached to be a part of it, we certainly couldn’t say no! We hope to add to the bevy of great programming and set the tone for a great conference.”
PulmPEEPs
Hosts, David Furfaro, MD, and Kristina Montemayor, MD, will sit down with special guest, Maria Smilios, author of The Black Angels: The Untold Story of the Nurses Who Helped Cure Tuberculosis, for a live interview on Monday, October 7, from 11 am to noon.
CHEST will be recognizing the Black Angels with an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) designation during the Opening Session on Sunday morning. Events throughout the annual meeting will help attendees connect with this vital chapter in chest medicine history, which Smilios helped bring to light in her 2023 book.
“Here at PulmPEEPs, we have always loved the CHEST Annual Meetings. We have enjoyed learning at them, reuniting with and meeting colleagues, and having conference-specific episodes the past two years. The opportunity to record live at CHEST 2024 is a real thrill, and we’re looking forward to an interesting discussion and to being able to engage directly with the CHEST community.”
Air Health, Our Health
Host, Erika Mosesón, MD, FCCP, will explore the topic of Your Career and Climate Change, during a live podcast recording on Tuesday, October 8, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. Climate change is affecting all patients and communities, and those who work in health care are well positioned to help in multiple ways.
Dr. Mosesón will be joined by Mary B. Rice, MD, MPH, Director of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Institute for Lung Health and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Come prepared to participate!
“I hope people who attend will learn about how to incorporate action for clean air and a stable climate into their professional and personal lives. In this session, we will learn from Dr. Mary Rice, who has been a leader in this area, from talking to patients about climate change to efforts to improve the climate impact of health care delivery and advocacy at the national level.”
The Curious Clinicians
Hosts, Avraham Z. Cooper, MD; Anthony Breu, MD; and Hannah Abrams, MD, will record an episode titled, Living on a Lung, Wednesday, October 9, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
The doctors will discuss how it’s possible to live with only one lung after a pneumonectomy, and audience members will have the chance to participate in a Q&A on the topic.
“We are so excited to record live at CHEST 2024 because of the tremendous energy of the conference and the organization’s commitment to high-quality medical education.”
